Erreà joins the Kilometro Verde Parma Forest Consortium to promote reforestation and the creation of green areas

Erreà announce its membership in the Kilometro Verde Parma Forest Consortium, an initiative dedicated to promoting the creation of green areas and permanent forests through the redevelopment of the Parma territory and province.

The idea for KilometroVerdeParma originated in the summer of 2015, when a group of people conceived the idea of creating a tree-lined corridor along the 11 kilometers of the A1 motorway that crosses Parma, with the aim of improving the environment in one of Europe's busiest highway stretches. This visionary project led to the creation of the KilometroVerdeParma Forest Consortium Social Enterprise, a non-profit organization founded in May 2020, actively engaged in the implementation and coordination of the initiative. From this initial conception, KilometroVerdeParma has grown into a large reforestation program, thus demonstrating a constant commitment to environmental protection.

Roberto Gandolfi, Vice President of Erreà, commented: "We are excited to join the KilometroVerdeParma project because we firmly believe that environmental responsibility should be a central priority in our corporate journey. Erreà is actively committed not only to joining the project but also to implementing concrete actions aimed at reducing the environmental impact of our operations. We are convinced that these steps will significantly contribute to building a sustainable future not only for our company but also for the community in which we operate and for future generations."

"More and more local entities choose to embrace the KilometroVerdeParma project and the values of sustainability; we are delighted today to welcome Erreà - states Maria Paola Chiesi, President of the KilometroVerdeParma Forestry Consortium - The Consortium currently counts 106 members who share with us a vision aimed at promoting the care and respect for the increasingly fragile environment, with tangible and concrete actions aimed at countering the domino effect of climate change, increasing the territory's adaptability, focusing precisely on the potential and benefits of wooded areas. Forests, in fact, are able to protect us from floods, heatwaves, landslides, as well as offering abundant biodiversity and new usable spaces for the community. Together, we can responsibly act on today's environment so that everyone can live fairly, with a better level of health, in more inclusive and secure cities."
