On 14 April l’Aquila welcomes the Guinness Pro14 when it hosts the game between Zebre and Dragons

It was announced at an official press conference that l’Aquila will host the international match to be played on Saturday 14 April between Zebre and Dragons Rugby, the Welsh, Newport-based franchise, for the  20th and penultimate round of the Guinness PRO14 Rugby tournament. The match kicks off at 5.00 pm at L’Aquila's Fattori Stadium. It will therefore be a fun-filled day for L’Aquila's rugby fans who will first be able to watch the Serie A match between L’Aquila Rugby Club and CUS Genova and then the international Guinness PRO14 clash between Zebre and Dragons. “Our rebirth also comes about through sport” – highlighted L’Aquila’s Mayor, Pierluigi Biondi – “rugby can be a metaphor for our community’s ability to react to moments of difficulty. When one plays rugby one knows that there is a team mate behind, ready to pick up the ball. So, our city and this territory must remain compact, just like a rugby team.”   An enclave of Italian rugby, located in the very centre of Italy, the city of L’Aquila will, for the very first time in its history, host a Guinness PRO14 match.
