Historic Zebre end their season by qualifying for the next EPCR Champions Cup!

Zebre ended their 2015-2016 competitive season on Saturday 7 May at the Lanfranchi stadium, with a 47 - 22 victory over Newport Gwent Dragons, in the last game of the Guinness PRO12 . Still in with a chance of qualifying for a place in the EPCR Champions Cup, and with the last in 80 minutes left to play, the home team took on their Newport opponents with great determination, taking the lead 8 minutes into the match, following the Welsh team's one and only early lead. With sixty minutes gone, the Parma team reached their objective of a bonus point, and finished the game with five tries. The day marked a historic milestone for Zebre, who ended the season having won eight matches, an all-time record in the team's Celtic rugby history. Moreover, their last but one position in the table, unprecedented in their previous three years in the Guinness PRO12, means that Italy's 'North West Fifteen' qualify for rugby's most prestigious European club trophy, the EPCR Champions Cup. The 47 points scored are an all-time record in an official game for the Parma-based club, with their third, never-before achieved, seasonal attacking bonus point. Well done Zebre!!!!
