The Italian women’s team pull off a wonderful victory in the Montreux Volley Masters
The tournament in Montreux ended with a splendid win for Italy’s women’s national team that beat Russia 3-0 (25-21, 30-28, 26-24) in the final.
Davide Mazzanti's team delivered an exceptional performance, from both a technical point of view and in terms of character. This is the Italian national team’s second triumph at this historic event in Switzerland, with the last coming in the 2004 edition. First place in the tournament provides a huge confidence boost ahead of the 2018 World Championship taking place from 29 September to 20 October in Japan.
