The draw for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia: Iceland will face Argentina, Croatia and Nigeria

Moscow's Kremlin Palace Ballroom was the setting for the draw ceremony for the 2018 Fifa World Cup: the groups were drawn as follows. Iceland is in Group D along with Argentina, Croatia and Nigeria. The host country, Russia, is in Group A, together with Uruguay, Egypt and Saudi Arabia (against whom it will play the opening game of the tournament in Moscow on 14 June).   Portugal joins Spain, Morocco and Iran in Group B. France has drawn a reasonable group, joining Australia, Peru and Denmark in Group C. Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia are in Group E . Sweden, that knocked out Italy in the play-offs, has ended up in Group F with Germany, Mexico and South Korea. Belgium, Panama, Tunisia and England are in Group G, and finally Group H consists of Poland, Senegal, Colombia and Japan.
