Italy's Under-18s: silver medallists in the final of the Europeans Championship!

Italy’s women rounded off the Under-18s European Championship by winning the silver medal in Holland. Cristofani's team succumbed to the European Champions, Russia, at the tie break, after having beaten them 3 - 0 in the qualifying round and reaching the final game following an emphatic series of six victories in six matches.The final was a hard fought affair, played with no holds barred, with both teams delivering fraught but thrilling performances, particularly in the case of the Italian players who delivered entertaining volleyball throughout the entire tournament. A well-deserved achievement for the Italian Under-18 team for whom the silver medal represents an excellent starting point, given the path to growth which these girls have set out on and for which their achievement deserves the highest acclaim. This is the fourth silver medal in the history of the Italian national side. Well done girls!
