Erreà Sport and Lega Pro present #Artemio, the ball for the 2023/2024 season

Erreà Sport, in synergy with Lega Pro, is excited to unveil its new product launch for the 2023/2024 season: #Artemio, a football that is an extraordinary combination of identity and technology, guaranteeing a unique, exclusive experience in the world of football.

Artemio is composed of 14 panels, six of which in a rhomboid shape reminiscent of the celebrated Erreà trademark. This distinctive structure gives the ball an attractive appearance but, more importantly, it improves performance on the field. The heat-welded structure of the panels is formed by a multilayer core that includes a 4 mm layer of low-density polyurethane foam and four layers of woven polyester material. The texturised HEXA 1.2 outer surface guarantees very high sensitivity and an explosive response to the touch of the players’ feet. In addition, this advanced construction enables the ball to maintain its properties under any climatic conditions, ensuring optimum performance on any terrain, whether natural grass or the latest generation of synthetic materials.

Its Fifa Quality Pro certification is a guarantee of the quality and ability to meet the highest standards of professional football, permitting its use in all professional competitions at the European and world level.

The graphics are reminiscent of the Erreà jerseys of the Nineties, revisited in a modern way, with fuchsia and cyan colours to add a contemporary touch that combines originality and popular appeal. The choice to design the ball with a vintage aspect was prompted by the desire to arouse the interest and enthusiasm of football fans, by recalling a past epoch and the memory of thrills and records linked to a golden age of this sport.

The name is a clear tribute to Artemio Franchi (Florence, 8/1/1922 - Siena 12/8/1983), a great Italian football executive who, thanks to his innovative ideas, founded the Italian Serie C, then known as the National Semi-professional League, of which he became president.  He launched the idea of the university of football at Coverciano, where the federal technical centre founded by the Marquis Luigi Ridolfi, was expanded and became the home of the Italian National Football Team, affectionately known as the “Azzurri”. Franchi was President of the Italian Football Federation from 1967 to 1976, when Italy won the European title in 1968 and obtained second place in Mexico in 1970. He continued to lead the Federation from 1978 to 1980. He was also President of UEFA from 1973 and Vice President of FIFA from 1974. He organized the European Championships in Italy in 1980 and, under his leadership as the top representative of the world football organization, Italy won the World Cup in Spain in 1982. Artemio Franchi represented an idea of progress for Italy, symbol of an Italy that, thanks to his appointment to UEFA and FIFA, could provide leadership for Europe and the world. He was the only Italian executive to reach such heights in the sports world, of which he was certainly more than deserving. His vision enabled him to anticipate the enormous transformations that Italian and international football would undergo.

As was done in the past season, a special QR Code has been applied on the ball through which Lega Pro can provide exclusive information, news and updates. Thanks to the technology afforded by smartphones and other tech devices, users can easily access dedicated digital content, creating an active connection between the online and offline worlds.

<<After two years of intense work by our Research and Development team, we are excited to present a ball that is the result of meticulous attention to details and constant hard work - announced Angelo Gandolfi, Chairman of Erreà Sport - During that time, we collaborated closely with the professional players of our Lega Pro teams, listening to their ideas and responding to their needs, to create a football that would be a perfect combination of technical perfection and reliable performance. We tested it on playing fields under every possible type of climatic conditions, checking for bounce, weight and resistance with the goal of obtaining a precise analysis of the ball’s performance. We are also absolutely certain that the choice of a graphic design inspired by the Nineties, with a combination of bright, vibrant colours, will succeed in capturing the imagination of football fans everywhere>>

The new Artemio football will be used exclusively, throughout the 2023/2024 season, offering a new dimension of play and superior performance for professional players.
