Special gowns made from antiviral Ti-Energy 3.0 fabric donated to Parma Children's Hospital

The professionals at Parma Children's Hospital can count on new gowns.

Erreà Sport decided to make a personal contribution by donating antiviral Ti-energy 3.0 gowns to the staff of the six departments of the hospital, by putting to good use the experience it has acquired in years of manufacturing sports clothing and researching technical fabrics.

Six colours for six departments: white for Neonatology; navy for General Paediatrics; blue for Emergency Paediatrics; maroon for the Week Hospital; red for Oncohematology and green for Paediatric Surgery.

Tests performed in accordance with ISO 18184 have proved that, in the laboratory, the Ti-energy 3.0 fabric can reduce the viral load by 99.85% compared to a standard polyester fabric six hours after coming into contact with the virus.

This extraordinary success in the world of fabrics was made possible by the use of two separate technologies: the zinc oxide nanoparticles, permanently encapsulated in the fibres, which have antiviral and antimicrobial properties, and the Minusnine J1+ treatment, which makes the fabric super-impermeable to liquids. This dual function allows the fabric to form an effective protective barrier against droplets, liquids and micro-organisms (bacteria, fungi and viruses).

Ti-energy yarn 3.0, like all Erreà fabrics, is also certified according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 which sets extremely strict limits in terms of harmful substances and guarantees safety and quality in the protection of all consumers.

Water-repellent and breathable, the gowns form part of the Point line and have a collar and elasticated cuffs. They feature a classic closure with back ties and snap fasteners on the collar.

Angelo Gandolfi, President of Erreà Sport: “A small contribution to thank those who work each day helping children who are going through a difficult time in their lives. Being able to do something for them is very satisfying".

The donation ceremony took place on the morning of Thursday 25 November in the hospital foyer. Participating in the event, attended by the local press, were members of the medical directorate and nursing coordination team, together with Angelo Gandolfi, President of Erreà Sport.
