Saint-Nazaire has written a page in French volleyball history. SNVBA won their first French Champion title on Sunday, just two years after their promotion to the Marmara SpikeLigue.
Tours failed to overcome the first-leg defeat (1-3). The second-leg match, lasting almost 200 minutes, saw the reigning champion win 3-2 but lose the golden set 15-12.
A surprising result considering Saint-Nazaire finished seventh in the regular season.
The road to the final was marked by challenging obstacles, with victories against high-level teams such as Nantes and Tourcoing, respectively second and third in the league.
