Italian Modern Pentathlon triumphs at the European Games and sets its sights on the Paris 2024 Olympics

Italian Modern Pentathlon achieved exceptional results at the European Games in Krakow. Italian athletes conquered medals, European titles, Olympic passes, and set new records. Alice Sotero secured Olympic qualification, the European title, and established a new points record in the women's final. Giorgio Malan won the continental title, secured a pass for the Paris 2024 Olympics, and equaled the points record. Additionally, the Italian team won the bronze medal.

 

 

The goal was to obtain two Olympic passes, but the Italian athletes surpassed expectations by winning two gold medals, two continental titles, and the team bronze. The results achieved in Krakow allow Italy to look optimistically towards upcoming international commitments, including the Paris 2024 Olympics.

 

 

 

Three out of the four available Olympic spots have already been claimed by the Italian athletes, and the team ranks first in the international standings. Elena Micheli is in first place in the Women's World Ranking, while Alice Sotero and Giorgio Malan lead the Olympic Ranking.

 

The next international event for Italian Modern Pentathlon athletes is the World Championships taking place in Bath, England, from August 21 to 28, 2023.
