Bulgaria lived up to their expectations as favourites by beating Croatia 3-1 in front of their home fans in Ruse, and so winning their second Golden European League title, having won the first in 2018.
Their opponents, coached by Santarelli, were clearly outplayed by Bulgaria in the final two sets and never came close to winning.
