Matteo Spagnolo was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2022 Draft.
Born in Brindisi and born in 2003, Spagnolo grew up at the youth level in Aurora Brindisi, Mens Sana Mesagne and Stella Azzurra Roma, with whom he made his debut in Serie B at the age of 14. In 2018, he was signed by Real Madrid, who loaned him to Vanoli Cremona last year. In February 2020, at the age of 17, he made his national team debut in a qualifying match for the 2021 European Championships, scoring three points.
Spanish is expected to stay at least two more years in Europe to continue the path of growth started last season in Vanoli Cremona, where he played a Serie A championship as a starter.
