France qualifies for the 2016 Rio Olympics!

Having beaten Venezuela in Saturday's match and losing the last game on Sunday, against Japan, the French national team achieved its much-anticipated qualification, finishing top of its pool on 15 points with Poland and Iran. The 12 teams that have qualified for the men's competition at the 2016 Rio Olympics are: France, Brazil, Poland, Russia, Italy, USA, Argentina, Iran, Canada, Cuba, Egypt, Mexico (Europe 4, Norceca 4, South America 2, Asia 1, Egypt 1). These are the Olympic pools that have been arrived at using the serpentine system based on current FIVB rankings. The top four teams from each pool will qualify for the quarter finals.
