Blue success at the Trisome Games 2024: Team Italia Fisdir conquers 78 medals

Italian participation in the SUDS Trisome Games 2024 concludes with remarkable success, adding another 6 medals to the national collection.

 

Among these, 2 golds and 4 silvers, bringing Italy's total medals to 78, distributed as 26 golds, 27 silvers, and 25 bronzes. In particular, the athletics team, led by coach Mauro Ficerai, achieved extraordinary results, winning 4 medals and setting a new world record in the 4x400 relay category II2.

 

The exceptional performance of our athletes clocked a time of 4:45.95, lowering the previous record by 21 seconds. Another commendable mention goes to Chiara Stazu, who won gold in the Mosaic 800m category with a time of 3:40.86. In the field events, we saw silver for Gerini in men's shot put with 9.15 and for Nicole Orlando in women's shot put with 6.28. In futsal, despite our boys' spirited fight in the third-place playoff against Mexico, victory slipped away narrowly with a final score of 6-7.

 

Finally, in swimming, Tononi took home silver in the 50m freestyle with 31.49, also setting a new Italian category record, while the 4x100 relay added another silver to Italy's medal tally. Roberto Cavana, Swimming Coach, praised the commitment and determination shown by the athletes, emphasizing the importance of continuous training and high-level competition to surpass their limits."
