Sitting Volley Cedacri Giocoparma: beyond competition, a philosophy of inclusive life

Last Friday, Erreà had the pleasure of hosting the women's Sitting Volley team from Cedacri Giocoparma at its headquarters.

The local 'Sitting' community, steadily growing, has found its natural home at Giocoparma ASD, an organization committed for over 40 years to promoting sports at all levels, reaching out to people with disabilities and beyond.

Founded as a multisport club with the goal of promoting well-being through sports, this represents the first Sitting Volley team born independently of classical volleyball. With a cutting-edge coaching staff, including the recent addition of a nutritionist, the team continues to chart new frontiers in the world of adaptive sports.

Since 2017, the year of its debut in the Italian Championship, the team has maintained a significant presence on the podium, including the recent victories in the Italian Cup and Supercup. The team goes beyond mere sports competition, adopting a life philosophy to share with the world. The goal is to break down prejudices and pre-existing mental frameworks regarding people with disabilities, actively committing to promoting a sports activity focused on the direct experience of disability. Players have the opportunity to develop greater empathy, understanding, and awareness of the daily challenges faced by those with disabilities.
