The Sicilian team are celebrating the mathematical certainty of promotion, after winning round one of Serie D with six games still to play. After their clear 4-1 victory over Canicattì, we’ll be seeing the red and blue team again in Serie C after a year’s absence.
The three points earned take Catania’s points total to 75 after 28 match days, with a +22 ranking that certifies their return to Serie C.
Catania’s record-breaking performance in round one of Serie D has never faltered, allowing the team to march straight ahead and celebrate their well-deserved achievement well in advance.
At least 6000 fans followed their team, which is now looking forward to a big celebration in Catania, where an open-top coach will be driving them through the streets of the city.
