Presentation of the new official kits Erreà has created for the New York club News Amsterdam F.C., the team that aspires to be “the Club of the People” for all the citizens of the Big Apple.
Created in collaboration with the football designer Christopher Payne, who also came up with the Club’s widely admired logo, the new shirts are a celebration of the timeless beauty of the city of New York, highlighting the historical ties and mutual influences that continue to bind it to Europe.
The highly sophisticated home shirt is characterised by a perfect colour balance between the central part and the eye-catching pattern on the sleeves.
Embellished with an elegant mandarin collar, the home shirt has a total black base featuring a watermark detail of the map of New York City, while the original design of the sleeves is inspired by the combination of shapes and figures that recall the Chrysler Building, one of the most recognisable skyscrapers on the skyline of the city. The pattern, formed by curves and pointed triangles, immediately captures the attention.
The combination of black and white is a perfect representation of the urban soul of New York, recalling the iconic photographs often chosen as an emblem of the city.
The orange colour of the away kit is a clear reference to the Netherlands and its renowned football tradition, the link with which is emphasised above all by the name of the Club (New Amsterdam). The shirt is clearly reminiscent of the one worn by the Dutch national team at the 1988 European Championship, on which the pattern clearly offers a new take, with a nuanced texture formed by fine pixels shaped into geometric triangles repeated down the full length of the kit. The shirt is teamed with total orange shorts and socks.
