Twenty-three years after their last triumph, Italy’s women’s volleyball team has climbed back to the top of the world. In Bangkok, on 7 September 2025, the Azzurre claimed the second world title in their history by defeating Turkey in a thrilling and hard-fought final, sealed 3-2 with set scores of 25-23, 13-25, 26-24, 19-25 and 15-8 in the tie-break. An extraordinary achievement that enriches a legendary cycle and confirms the strength of a team capable of combining talent, determination and heart.

The undisputed stars of the evening were Paola Egonu, Myriam Sylla and Arisa Antropova, who delivered outstanding performances, supported by a united group and a blocking game that in the decisive set managed to repel every Turkish attempt. With this victory, Italy extends its unbeaten run to thirty-six consecutive wins and writes another unforgettable page in the history of world volleyball.

For Erreà, technical partner of the Italian Volleyball Federation, this title is a source of deep pride and a tangible testament to the bond that unites us with the Azzurre. It is also a drive towards the future, strengthened by the renewal of our collaboration with FIPAV until 2028, which will accompany us on the road to the Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Since 2017 we have stood alongside the national team and the whole of Italian volleyball on a journey full of emotions and successes: from the men’s world title in 2022 to the two European golds in 2021, from the triumphs in the Women’s Volleyball Nations League to the Olympic gold in Paris 2024. The conquest of the women’s World Championship adds a new chapter to this extraordinary honours list and strengthens our commitment to invest in volleyball in all its forms, from senior teams to youth squads, right through to Sitting Volleyball.
