Benetton Rugby is pleased to present the second match kit, a shirt with an innovative design and a remarkable visual impact.
This unique kit is a true values-based manifesto from a human and social perspective. Equality, respect, trust, support, and loyalty – the club’s values, inherent in rugby, are represented by a tree that wraps around the front and back of the jersey.
The tree, a symbol of life and growth, has deep roots representing stability and connection to the earth, while its branches reaching towards the sky symbolise aspiration and growth. The trunk, made up of threads in different colours, clearly refers to the Benetton family’s origins. The coloured threads represent different values: yellow for equality, white for support, blue for respect, green for trust, and red for loyalty. These colours also extend to the side panels, contributing to a design that blends aesthetics with symbolic meaning.
From a technical point of view, the shirt is made from cutting-edge Elastic Trikot fabric, which combines lightness and softness, ensuring a perfect fit that adapts to the movements of the athletes, even in the most intense phases of the game. This technological fibre guarantees optimal adherence, offering freedom of movement without compromising comfort, which is essential for on-field performance.
In the collar of the shirt is a component of technological excellence: an additional layer of fabric known as Melville, which houses an advanced GPS tracker. This tool allows real-time monitoring of players’ performance, providing crucial data to better manage their athletic condition.
As with the first kit presented a few months ago, the second will also feature the players’ surnames above the shirt number on the back.
Finally, an additional innovative element is a QR Code that enhances the front of the jersey. This, along with the already present NFC (Near Field Communication) TAG, is intended to offer fans a simple, modern, and engaging digital experience. By bringing their smartphone close to the jersey, fans can access interviews, behind-the-scenes videos, match highlights, ticketing, and much more.
