Italy also wins the men's Under 20 European Championship after an exceptional summer thanks to the U22 and U18 men's, U21, U19 and U17 women's victories, the women's VNL tournament and the men's senior world championship.
This time it did so by battling to the end with last year's U19 world champion Poland.
The match saw an agile victory for the Azzurrini in the first two sets, before the overpowering comeback of Poland that recovered the disadvantage and came to 2-2. In the fifth and decisive set, however, Battocchio's team made no mistakes, taking home the title of European Champions.
A praise to the entire team, there was no decisive player, it was the group that won! Italy finished with 46 winning attacks, 13 walls and 10 aces.
