Zebre Rugby unveil their new EPCR Champions Cup shirt in Dublin

Dublin's Convention Centre was the setting for one of the presentations of the next European Club Cups season, organised by European Professional Club Rugby.

Following the presentation of the English clubs, which took place in London on 28 September and that of their French counterparts, held in Paris on 3 October, the Irish capital was the setting for the final event featuring the clubs competing in the Guinness PRO12. Italian rugby was also represented by Zebre Rugby with Head Coach, Gianluca Guidi and captain, George Biagi. The second line up, for the occasion, wore the new kit, sporting the Erreà logo, that the 'XV of the North-West' will be using in its European games. Zebre's first team shirt will be black with gold inserts with the name of the main sponsor “Parma Unesco City of gastronomy”, written across the chest. The Parma-based team will become roving ambassadors for the wine and food excellence of their home town that is due to host the first Champions Cup game against Connacht, on Sunday 23 October at 4.15 pm at the Lanfranchi Stadium. In December of last year the city of Parma was awarded this important honour by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture, founded in 1945 to promote peace and understanding between nations through education, science, culture, communications and information.

Two European competitions will get under way on 13 October, namely the EPCR Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup. Both competitions will start with twenty teams representing the best of European rugby. Zebre Rugby will play in the more prestigious of the two tournaments, i.e. the EPCR Champions Cup, competing in Pool 2 against Toulouse of France, Connacht of Ireland and England's Wasps who will host the team from Parma in the first match at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Saturday 15 October.
