Wigan Warriors beat Warrington Wolves to win the 2018 Super League Grand Final!
Watched by 64,892 spectators, and with the match being broadcast live on Sky TV in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, Wigan Warriors beat Warrington Wolves 12-4 at Manchester’s Old Trafford Stadium, to become the 2018 Super League Champions.
A match characterised by an incredible atmosphere both in the stands and on the pitch, where both teams gave everything they had to try and win the trophy. The Wigan Warriors’ win proved highly emotional because it also marked the farewell of their historic coach, Shaun Wane, who said that the result represented the “perfect send off” in front of his players and fans.
Wigan dominated the match throughout, thanks to the team’s superlative performance and the fundamental contribution of certain individuals such as Dom Manfredi, the player of Italian origins who, after two years out of the game with injury, only returned to the pitch five weeks ago and on Saturday scored two decisive tries in the closing moments.
Huge satisfaction too for Erreà Sport, the official technical sponsor for the Wigan Warriors, with whom they have also won two Super League Championship titles.
