Benetton Rugby beat the reigning champions Scarlets!
After over a month away the Lions returned to the Monigo Stadium, on Sunday 11 February, for the 14th round of the Guinness PRO14 where they faced the reigning champions Scarlets.
This massive challenge, which ended 22 -12 to Treviso was of supreme importance for Benetton and leaves them in with a chance of qualifying for next year's Champions Cup. The Lions, missing 14 team members who were on Six Nations international duty for Italy, had one more Monty Ioane, the New Zealand winger who, with a hat-trick of tries, helped Benetton to a well-deserved and hugely valuable win over the Scarlets who, whilst also missing 12 international players, still remain reigning champions, topping Conference B (alongside Leinster). Benetton dominated the first half and ended the second half with their fourth consecutive win in Pro 14.
Well done from all of us!!!!
