Iceland makes a good start in the World Cup qualifiers as does Ethiopia in the African Cup

The Icelandic national football team made a good start on the evening of Monday 5 September when it drew 1-1 against Ukraine in the Group I qualification match for the final stages of the next World Cup in Russia in 2018.

The match, played at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, saw a goal scored by Finnbogason for Iceland, with Yarmolenko scoring the equaliser.

An excellent start too for the Ethiopian national football team who beat the Seychelles 2 - 1 in their first leg match on Saturday 3 September and then drew 1 - 1 in the return leg on 5 September . The two qualification games were valid for next year's 2017 Africa Cup.

Here's wishing both our national sides the very best!
