2018 World Cup Qualifiers: Iceland rolls on, beating Turkey as well. It tops the Group alongside Croatia!
The third round of qualifying matches has brought yet another victory for Iceland that, having previously won against Finland, beat Turkey by two goals to nil, eliminating it from any chances of qualification: between the 42nd and 44th minute of the match Toprak scored an own-goal and then Finnbogason put the ball in the net to give Sigurdsson and his team a further three points.
The Icelandic national team now tops Group I, alongside Croatia. A top of the table clash will now take place in Zagreb on 12 November when Croatia plays host to Iceland to decide which team will top the group. Ukraine may take advantage of this in its home game against Finland, whilst Turkey play Kosovo.
