Women’s World Championship 2018: Italy and the Netherlands are in the semifinals! Their opponents will be China and Serbia!

Following China and Serbia, the two Erreà teams, Italy and the Netherlands, continue their extraordinary run by qualifying for the semifinals of the Women's World Championship 2018.

Italy’s national women’s team beat Japan 3-2 (25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-13) to win a place among the Final Four, after having suffered their first defeat to Serbia. For the Italian women it is the fourth world championship semifinal in the team’s history, following those of 2002, 2006 and 2014.

In the other pool the 3-2 victory (30-32, 15-25, 25-22, 25-15, 15-9) by the Netherlands over the USA was decisive - knocking the Americans out of the medal race - as was China’s victory over the Dutch.

The semifinals, scheduled to be played on Friday 19 October in Yokohama, will be as follows: Serbia vs Netherlands (6.40 am Italian time) and China vs Italy (9.10 am Italian time).

The 5th and 6th place final will be between Japan and the United States.

Come on girls! We wish you the very best of luck!!!
