Alfa Romeo returns to Formula 1 - signing an agreement with the Sauber F1 Team!
It's official! Alfa Romeo has signed a multi-year technical-commercial partnership deal with the Swiss Sauber F1 Team and will make a return to the Formula 1 circuit in the 2018 season.
The livery for the racing cars will feature Alfa’s unmistakeable colours and the brand's trade mark as Title Sponsor. The cars will be fitted with Ferrari 2018 power units. Moreover the agreement also envisages strategic, commercial and technological collaboration in all possible areas of development, even through the sharing of Alfa Romeo's engineers and technical staff. The partnership will form the basis for further opportunities for the two companies in Formula 1 and for the automotive sector as a whole. The team will be called Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team. Behind the wheel will be the Monegasque, Charles Leclerc, 2017 World Formula 2 Champion and member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, and the Swede Marcus Ericsson. Antonio Giovinazzi has been confirmed as reserve driver.
This is great news that is also immensely satisfying for Erreà, that will continue as the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team's official technical partner.
